They hammered, they painted, they packed — Realtors came out in force this year to support local charities during JDC Empowers Realtors events.
The program, which launched in 2023, encourages Realtors to help local organizations by volunteering their time. This year, Realtors joined staff from Woodforest and sister community Grand Central Park to help four non-profits — Meals on Wheels, Inspiration Ranch, Sleep in Heavenly Peace and Montgomery County Youth Services. Johnson Development further aided their efforts by making a monetary donation of $2,000 to each organization.
In February, Johnson Development sponsored Montgomery County Youth Services’ annual Yes to Youth gala and donated essential supplies to support the youth in their programs. The county organization focuses on the emotional and mental health development of youth and families by offering crisis intervention, counseling and suicide prevention services.
Thirty Realtors and team members rolled up their sleeves and repainted two horse pens in April for Inspiration Ranch, a Magnolia non-profit providing equine-assisted services.
September saw 50 volunteers gather to build nearly 100 twin beds for Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization whose mission is to provide beds to children in need.
The volunteer program wrapped up 2024 by helping Meals on Wheels. The organization, which promotes the independence and dignity of homebound seniors in Montgomery County, welcomed volunteers who helped prepare Thanksgiving bags, breakfast bags and dog food giveaways for seniors with pets.
We’ll be back in 2025 with more JDC Empowers Realtors events to help the local community!
