Area Realtors Name Johnson Development ‘Developer of the Year’

On the heels of Woodforest winning Best Overall Community (More Than 600 Acres) in the Texas Association of Builders Star Awards earlier this summer, there’s another best-of-the-best title, this time for our developer, Johnson Development.

Johnson Development has just been named “Developer of the Year” in the 2024 Agents’ Choice Awards presented by Houston Agent Magazine. It’s the second consecutive win for Johnson Development and fourth win overall in the awards program. The award is especially meaningful because the winners were selected by local real estate professionals who are experts on the many developers in the Houston area.

It's not the first time Johnson Development has been awarded “Developer of the Year.” Over the years, it has earned the honor several times from the Texas Association Builders, Greater Houston Builders Association, Dallas Builders Association and Greater Home Builders Association of Austin.

Johnson Development is also known nationally for having more top-selling master-planned communities over the last decade than any other developer in the nation. Woodforest has often been included on these annual lists, most recently in 2023 when John Burns Real Estate Consulting ranked it No. 41 on its tally of the 50 top-selling master-planned communities in the nation. In all, Woodforest has been ranked among the nation’s top-selling communities 10 times, in large part because of the support of local Realtors — the very real estate agents who selected Johnson Development “Developer of the Year.” Through our 15 years of development, we’ve enjoyed substantial support of the real estate community, often topping more than an 85 percent participation rate in new home sales.
