The Johnson Development Corp. has sold a tract of land to LASCO Development Corp. for a CVS Pharmacy that will be the South Montgomery County community’s first commercial development.
LASCO Development Corp. has purchased 2.29 acres at the southeast corner of Fish Creek Thoroughfare and Woodforest Parkway North for a freestanding CVS Pharmacy. Construction of the 14,600-square-foot pharmacy is expected to begin in the spring with an opening planned for the fall of 2015.
“We are very excited to announce the first retail presence in Woodforest,” said Virgil Yoakum, general manager of Woodforest, a project of The Johnson Development Corp. “There will be other commercial activity in the vicinity of the new CVS Pharmacy, although those plans are still under development. These retail additions will not only be convenient to Woodforest residents, but also the entire region.”
Approximately 90 acres have been dedicated for commercial use within the 3,000-acre Woodforest master plan, which also includes residential, recreational amenities, schools and Woodforest Golf Club.
